rebuild it or take it to aamco?

as most of you know i blew the trans in my t/a...my question is this:

should i just rip the trans apart in my garage and go to town on it with a rebuild kit?

should i take it to aamco for there 100$ rip it apart and tell you whats wrong service?

should i just have aamco do teh rebuild?

any ideas?

i will be going witha stock rebuild so dont bring up ttp..thank you

i would say just do it yourself
ask around on ls1tech and other sites to see if anyone has a service manual or can give you the play by play of how to do it.
i have been told that manual trannies are simple as hell as long as you keep everything in the order it came apart.
