Best formula that always works, is intake/exhaut/gears/tune works on just about every other car!

i'm a fan of force induction cause i want to keep certain things like a radio and what not

but like someone else said, it depends on what your goals are.

it really depends what kind of goals you have for teh car.
if you jsut want a bit more pep and the same basic all around cruising aand mileage something as simple as whisper lid+ underchin ram air(fast toys/slp) + cat back + tuning will give your car a bunch more pop off the line.
if you are concerned with time slips you can't beat that bang for the buck of doing a good set of gears and a posi. something along the liens of 4.10 gears and a strong posi unit will easily knock 4 or 5 tenths off your ET and improve around town performance. gears also do not negatively effect mileage or engine life as much as many woudl think.

later

well its my daily driver so nothing rediculous will be done to it. Clutch won't get done until the current one goes. all my performance stuff goes into my 68, but i'd like some good pick up out of the 98. What would be awesome is if i can put up a good fight to an RX-8, i know i won't top it but it would be nice to fight. I figure a good start for the car would be cold induction, jet performance, and a cat back system.

No Jet performance. Just ask one of the tuner guys here to hook you up real nice. Get CAI, catback, free mods, a little lightening and some good gears.

Sorry... lol I meant to say "lighten the car" as in remove all the excess crap like spare tire, jack... along those lines, and stuff you really wouldnt use. Check out www.fullthrottlev6.com , you will have most if not all your questions answered there. Jet chips from what I hear are known to hold back more power. Getting your cars comp tuned is the better route rather than a Jet.

yeah the previous owner of my car had a jet module in it and it gave my car more problems when it was on then when it was off lol...i ended up pulling it & selling it. If you need some tuning done contact me...I charge less then 1/2 of any of the handheld crap thats out there right now & will make sure its a tune matched to your car.

pretty much what all these guys said, i have a 2001 firebird w/Y87 package. all ive done so far is added a CAI (i recommend fast toys [complete] package, i bought the SLP one then found out theres an upgrade to it) i also bought a whisper air lid which made a LOAD of difference compared to the stock intake. if you cant do anything remove that air resovior/baffler thing in between the airbox and the MAF. just adding those three things made alotta difference. hoping to get an exhaust and do sum minor weight reduction soon. also one other thing that no1 else mentioned but is kinda standard (hi flow airfilter)
