Question dex vs green

i love starting arguments lol

my truck just got a little warm... first time ive used it on a hot day with the AC cranked. so i got home popped the hood and the coolant was boiling and over flowed the overflow tank lol. i never had a problem before so i never even checked it... its looked like brown milk coming out! pulled out the owners manual and sure enough it WAS dexcool at one point... should i just fluch it and go green?

98 blazer zr2, 143k miles, unknown if its ever been changed or when lol... did not over heat the car, guage never got into the red so thats not an issue

Have seen this or evidence of this happening many times before. I would certainly flush the heck out of the system. As for color choice, I don't have an opinion.

lol well i just drained the radiator.... there was what appeared to be some green... some remnants of red... mostly watery looking substance and some dirt... so i have no idea what has been in there recently, maybe ill just flush it best i can and pick up some of that crap that says its ok to use with either color... safest bet haha

The brownish stuff you are seeing is Iron Oxide from contamination or the coolant was improperly mixed with to much water in the past at some point..

90's blazer's had Dex coolant contamination problems supposedly due to the angle the cap is mounted to the radiator..
From what I remember the fix for it was a better sealing Stanton cap..

the dex cool does get nasty once its been contaminated....i would flush the hell out of the system.....take the rad hose off and point it straight down into a bucket, start the truck and wait for the engine to get rid of the coolant thats in it, take your trusty hose and stick it into the radiator and let it run till the water comes kinda clean....reattach hose, fill with coolant, check for leaks....enjoy

Huh? You blew the motor? Chocolate Milk coolant usually means coolant/oil mix.
