any input on a low profile jack?

im in the market for a new hydraulic jack. ever since i put the koni / strano lowering kit on my ws6 my old one is too tall to slip under my car.

browsing google there is a craftsman one for $50 which i guess is an ok brand, and a jegs one for $200, and a few other brands. it will just be used for my trans am. im not looking to spend an arm and a leg but im also looking for a decent jack that wont fail and kill me trying to jack up the car.

thanks for any input.

Jon

YMMV, but as a casual user, I'm very happy with my $80 2.5 Ton low-profile Harbor Freight steel jack. Coupons regularly pop up to get it for around that price.

I've got a 3 ton jack from sears, its been going strong for probably as long as this forum has been up. I usually have to drive the car up on some wood boards to get it in. Also Craftsman has their whole life time warranty.

Get a 2x10. Cut it long enough to drive the front wheels on..
