Antenna

never really gave it much thought, but wanted to know what u guys think about the stock antenna. I never notice it unless i really look for it. There are some other options on ebay i found but not to sure about them, or if it would look good.

I would skip the first two...the 3rd isn't bad.

You could also get a telescoping one like the 'birds have and go that route.

I have #3 on my car now. It is a 14" tall piece, and it LOOKS just like the factory antenna(only shorter)and really is a nice item. There also is NO loss of radio reception. I told Alex to look into one of these, and get rid of the fat rubber one he has now, but that's his choice.

yea i dont like the first one. The third one in basically the stock one, but shorter. I like it but the more i look at the pics of the second one, i like that too. Telescoping ones are nice and rather easy to instal ( little time consuming maybe ). i think the shortie is the best option.

edpontiac91 - yea that’s the post that made me look into it but I didn’t want to hijack his thread. I think that especially if he does does do the black hood stripe he should leave that thicker antenna one because it stands out more and adds to his nice silver/black theme going on.

looking more at the shortie on ebay it says it fits camaro's 82-92' ans 95-02'. skipping 93-94'. If it fits a 95' im assuming it fits a 94', correct?

It's just a typo. I think he'll take it back if it doesn't fit. ALL late model GM antenna have the same base thread, so it should be a go. It really does look cool, something that adds a custom look to the car, but still looking like a FACTORY piece.

How's the new antenna fit? Any loss of reception with it installed?

i put it one as few days ago and it looks great, exactly like the stockone but shorter, a nice look, ill post a pic later today. reception is perfect. It fitd right on the stock mounting screw but if it didnt, it came with i think 4 different adapters. cant beat it for $14.

i have a shaved antenna on mine, it was relocated to the little cubby under the hatch. the reception did not get worse, at least not noticeably.

Stock ant was too tall, so I yanked it out of the base ( part that screws on ), cut about 8" off of it so it's now even with the roof line. Jammed it back in and a little tach weld and a shot of touch up paint.

Zero problem with reception + zero cost!
