95 z28 lsx front conversion

well figured i would start a thread since ill be working on this bad boy for a little while getting her completed

my friend anthony dropped off his 95 ls1 swapped z28 camaro today after i got home from work.

worked on it for a little bit tonight and got the bumper cover, hood, foglights and headlights/mounting panel removed from the car

(sorry for crappy pics)

here is a pic of the parts soon to be installed. he scored a pretty good deal on the ls cover with the slp grille

Im so tired of the LT front end look, bought my first one in 97 and had 3 after that and the look is so dated (for me anyway)...and im keeping the intake setup the same, not worth the trouble for a horse or 2.

Price was far below any used oem parts i could find. The vendor said they never had any problems w/ fitment...so I took the chance....I think we made out alright....pershing auto body was the vendor, they even refunded me almost 1/2 the price of purchase for slow delivery.

Always fun swapping stuff, but I am a huge fan of the lt1 style front end. I always loved the way this car looked before

well its been awhile since i updated this thread. so here is the finished product. just finished up today due to having too much stuff going on with work and house stuff..

we ended up using oem color paint from automotivetouchup.com ended up a little darker than what was on the car but not too horrible. (dont know if the maaco job was just a little lighter compaired to what it should of been) but for a rattle can job on the front end it came out damn good!. btw if anyone has any tips on how to get the rear corners of the hood (by the mirrors) lowered let me know. thats the only thing i couldnt figure out with this swap.

Came out great man, im pretty sure the front end will lighten up a bit once the paint sets itself...when I picked up the car from paint last time it was definitely darker and lightened up a mth. or so after.

Is it the picture or does the DS front of the hood align tighter to the fender than the PS?

both fender gaps are the same. the aftermarket fenders dont fit as good as the factory ones do. but not bad for what it is

car looks good...nice work IMO though I'm a fan of the lt1 front. The ls1 front end has been compared to a catfish mouth to many times. Though like i said the car looks good...nice work.
