What do you guys think??

Well me and the wife want to the track this past Tuesday (4/17) and we started talk about the track and how sometimes she gets bored when we go and that its not fair I get to have all the fun racing. So I told her she could take my car down the track when I get done my cam swap. She declined on the offer thank god. So I told her after my swap is done we will build her a F-Body. She smiled from ear to ear and try to play it off like she didnt want one and than start playing the million questions game.

So what you guys think?

The car would be 3rd Gen F-body, I would probably build her 355,Mild Cam,Auto.

3rd gen, 305, and spray the hell outta it to see how much it will take.
this way she'll think she going fast, and if it blows up,,, who cares, its just a 305.

Go for it. I'd do it if she showed interest in it and was willing to lend you a hand during the build... or at least keep you company and provide the sandwiches.

Kind of on the same topic, I had just finished building a CBR 600 powered Yamaha Warrior quad. I remember going on a first date at the track the following night. I made sure to bring mutual friends of hers cause I knew she'd get bored. Argued half the night with the safety tech guys to get it on the drag strip. Made a few passes, had the CDI box get hot. Spent the rest of the night surrounded by people asking a million questions.
Think I spent a total of 10 minutes talking to her that night... I made sure to let her choose the next date lol.

Give her a 350 to at least stand a chance. The 305 is a dog

I think what you mentioned sounds like a reasonable combo she could have fun with. You def don't need anything complicated or crazy. Maybe she can do some bracket racing and bring home a little bit of cash on the side?

my 305 with hooker shorty's, functional ram air hood ( with air box ) and catback went 15.0 with my big ass in it, and the heavy sub box, spare tire, jack, and a full tank. 305 wouldnt be a bad start. if she catches the i wanna go faster bug, then go through with a build for her

Thanks for all the input.

Sleeper-I wont put spray in it. I like to atleast get her a 350.

zraffz-She does show interest in it. She gave me her income tax check when were dating to buy a top end kit. Than I just found out this christmas that just passed she tried to get me a car trailer, no going to lie would of been pretty sweet. No more U-Haul trailers when going to the track. When we go to the track I ask her family,my family and friends to come so she isnt bored bit 95% of the time they all come up with some an B.S. why they cant come. I think its time to get new friends lol. What the quad run?

Methdmx- I am with you on that one.

Blackbirdws6- Thats what would do when I do start working on it. I want her to have a good time and atleast me in the low 13's high 12's.

That's a great idea , to keep her interested . You don't need to build someting really fast and scare her into not wanting to do it . Build something basic as a starting point that you can add to as she gets more experience. She will let you know when she want to go faster. If it wasn't for my wife I couldn't afford to have built my Camaro

my eventual plan on mine is to build a 334 out of the stock 305 retaining the stock TBI. It's somewhere in the middle. but my car won't see much track time if any. It will definatly be a fun little motor

Thumbs up

Sounds cool whatever you get her to race. Too many people drift apart in life because they don't have enough common ground to share. And who knows, she might be the next Shirley Muldowney, and smoke the azzes off a buncha big, bad, boy racers!

Good luck!
