Chances are you already have a 52mm or 58mm throttle body on the car.

Kid Racer 01-03-2008 08:51 PM

how do i find out...

bubba428 01-03-2008 09:02 PM

caliper FTW

Kid Racer 01-03-2008 09:03 PM

whats that....

bubba428 01-03-2008 09:07 PM

its a measuring devise usually used to find the inside diameter, outside diameter or thickness of something. If you want to be all hillbilly about it measuring tape will work but won't be accurate at all

Kid Racer 01-03-2008 09:18 PM

And how much do one of them caost.....

bubba428 01-03-2008 09:23 PM

well onesn dem der caost abot $15 dependin on how goods it are

Kid Racer 01-03-2008 09:50 PM

and how do they work...

bubba428 01-03-2008 10:00 PM

well you put on tip on one side the other on the other side and read the guage

Kid Racer 01-03-2008 10:03 PM

IIRC the way to measure your tb is to take it off and measure the opening at the back of the tb. Measure both openings.

bubba428 01-04-2008 06:23 PM

theres also ones like this that have longer tips to measure I.D. (inside diameter), and yes you have to take off the TB to measure it properly, from the back side

yea, don't know how that was overlooked ....

Forgot to mention that I wouldn't put a bigger throttle body on till you need it. Hell, I'm still running the stock one on my LT1

JL8Jeff 01-05-2008 10:12 AM

Does it look like this? Edelbrock makes a twin 52mm throttle body for LT1 engines so it might work on the TPI as well. Edelbrock part # 3809.

I was just saying that the longer tips make it easier

Kid Racer 01-05-2008 01:36 PM

No it doesn't look like that..Im thinking it is stock and someone put edlebrock stickers on it.Im thinking the stickers came with the headers...

johnjzjz 01-05-2008 04:06 PM

some stuff like a TB you cant get a caliper into it to measure - if you know what a snap gage is and a micrometer that would be the way i would do it and the 2 barrel one pictured you just add together to get the size > now take a picture of what you think is an aftermarket part and the guys will just by seeing it will tell you what it could be - jz

deadtrend1 01-06-2008 09:47 AM

Kid Racer 01-06-2008 01:23 PM
