Ran at ATco for the first time
Took my 1994z28 to drag race for the first time. The car has been well maintained has 200k full bolt one and ran 13.6 at 103 on street tires. Best of all was that nothing broke. It was fun and I had a good night and apparently the old girl has some life left in her

Thats a decent time for it. What bolt ons do you have
Cold air intake
Aluminum intake elbow MSD opti and coil Lt4 knock module electric Water pump Shorty headers and flow master exhaust |
auto or stick?
Very nice :)
Its an auto with a 2:73 rear.
thats good!
Thats pretty good. My 95 with a 3200 stall as the only mod went 13.4@101mph. Your car is trapping 2mph faster then mine..

i cannot wait to take it to the strip. nice to have a car that comes with timeslips  |
took mine out for the first time yesterday.
my best time: R/t- .449 60'- 1.972 330- 5.602 1/8th- 8.613 Mph- 81.90 1000- 11.196 E/t- 13.396 Mph- 102.39 my other 2 runs were a bit slower, but i wasnt launching on them. this run i launched at 2500rpms. gonna get a couple things replaced and prob gonna head out on friday again. |
What tires were you on? That's a pretty decent 60'.
street...falken ziez xe512's 245/50/16 at 25psi. when i blew the tranny back in high school, my dad and i rebuilt it and threw a 2500 stall at it. my best 60' b4 this was a 2.06. so i think the converter helped with that...im suprised it did tho on 2.73's
never ran at atco..that old 60' was from cecil |
took mine out for the first time last tuesday got a 12.5 at 108 with a 1.79 60ft still trying to find where the car likes to be launched and battleing slight traction issues but I think it has a tenth or 2 in her still. Also have a lot of parts on the way so thinking I will be 11s real soon.
Seeing as this is my car now, I need to do some upgrades to bring in more of a reliability factor. I need to rebuild the rear, my luck ill take it to the track and hook good once and then be scratching my head on how to get home. The posi functions fine, but with 198,426 miles on the original rear, I know its on borrowed time. I wanna also get the trans redone with a 2400-2600 stall since I'm gonna drive it pretty regularly. Then the top-end is gonna be refreshed. In thr meantime I'm gonna get a shortblock to rebuild, or maybe a golen motor. This one I might put in plexiglass on display as the little Lt-1 that could.
Build a spare motor and keep running this one!
^agreed... Look into revmax their converters are very street friendly when cruising and turn into a whole other animal when floored! and VERY wallet friendly
Why such a small converter? I use to dd on my ss3600 in my lt1 and it drove damn near stock. If you aren't going with a cam anytime soon, maybe step down to the 3200 but nothing less. Stay with the ss line and never look back.
Buy my circle D 4000 stall, have it restalled, and avoid running a revmax.

thank you guys for your input, the other forums i hang around on i dont really trust, since people seem to enjoy talking smack more than being useful, and if you add too much to a question (backround knowledge that you already know) and your very specific you get no response. your cars are what i look up to...well and BLS but thats just too much to even think about hah simple goal: run high 12's by the end of summer...suggestions for that will be appreciated. thanks |
You get what you pay for, and I will leave it at that.
With the cc503 def go higher than 3000, if you get a quality lock up converter, around town it will drive like stock. |

Shouldnt be too hard.... good luck. |
High 12s can be had with out too much effort with bolt ons and a little weight reduction. FWIW I ran 12.9 at 106.4 on a 1.9 60ft bolt on only
yeah i saw that you did...i dont need anything crazy fast right now...daughter is young and wife gets mad if i pull into traffic quick (half throttle car breaks the back end loose on the 1-2 shift)
and on the converter thing. i literally NEED the most cost effective best solution...i dont have much money to waste, and i dont want to buy parts that im gonna regret or need to replace in a few months. ill look into circle d.
anyone used precision lock-up converters before? id be happier than a pig in s*** to run a 12.99...id shut enough people up around here..too many kids think they are really fast in their basic bolt-on imports with a boost setting 3psi higher than stock (subie guys), you take em to the track once and all of a sudden their car has something wrong...they just dont want to admit they lost to a camaro. |
