I've got a fever..
.. and the only prescription is more F-Body! Well after having the Nova Wagon for maybe a month it's gone. Not really what i was looking for buuuuuut in it's place, a 1972 Firebird . I'm stoked i love the bodystyle. Needs bodywork and paint but the interior is immaculate.

Very cool!
What power plant is in it? Auto or stick? Is it a real Formula? |
damn that looks pretty cool. have fun!
|
350/350 combo.. i don't think it is a formula but i have to check. How can i tell if its a formula car or not? Big block anyone?
|
drop a big block in. why not...u know? u traded straight up for it?

I am thinking it may be a Formula because not many people were in love with the big scoops and changed them out for T/A shakers, flat hoods, and the typical cowls. If it is the original 350/350 combo it should have a 10bolt rear, gear ratios coudl have ranged from 2.41(not a typo) through 3.73 with the auto. |
ohh mannnn thats effing sweeeeet.. more pics k

You gonna stick a chevy big block in there, or stay true and keep it pontiac?
- Justin |
You can find pontiac 400 engines around for pretty cheap usually, 455's cost a bit more. There is nothing cooler sounding that a big inch poncho with a nice cam in it. Check the head castings, if it is an early motor they may be 6X heads already, if they are small chamber, they are often refered to as 6X-4's, they are really nice for performance with very little clean up work.
|
Yeah is it true that Pontiac had one size ngine physically? I would really want to keep the 350 thats in the their. It has a different exhaust tone and i like it. I want a big block but i may just build whats in their. Im gonna pull the casting numbers off the block and heads and ill post them up once i copy em down.

So much for the longroof society!
Nice 'bird! |
