Anyone ever do smc repair?

Smc, as in sheet molded composite. Pretty much what c4/c5 corvettes were along with 4th gen fbody doors/hatches.

It's like fiberglass but a little different from what I have read in the past. So just looking to see if anyone has any personal experience or advice. The repair I need to make is fairly structural but not under stress at all times.

I'll post more info and details later when I have time and my boys aren't rearranging the living room furniture.

I repaired a 4-6" chunk missing from my WS6 hood using a USC product made for SMC. It's probably the most significant body work I've ever done so can't compare it to anything else, just used the recommended resin and it has been fine. I probably should have chamfered the edge back further but even slamming the hood hundreds of times since repair hasn't been an issue.
