good junk yards

any one know of any good junk yards in the area I prefer to go through and pull what I need off the junkers but any recommendations?

Tru2Chevy 12-28-2007 12:48 PM

I dunno exactly where you are, but there are two over in Morrisville, PA (just over the bridge from Trenton) that allow you to walk through and pull your own parts. They are usually pretty fair on part prices too.

I am in the hamilton area aka trenton any info one the places in morrisville?

NJSPEEDER 12-28-2007 01:39 PM

morrisville places, don't remember the names, but they are easy to get too.

cross the trenton makes bridge, make the left at the first light, follow that road and it will bend to the right, go through the light and it is a mile or two up on the right hand side.
there is another yard just off of rt13, only a few miles from that one.

there is also scarpatti in trenton. i don't think they are set up as a u-pull-it deal though, not sure since they just moved recently.

Here's where they are on the map:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...&t=h&z=16&om=1

The one just above Tyburn road is Pick-a-Part...just park along the fence just off the road, and stop in at the trailer before going into the yard. They usually have a bunch of 3rd gens and a couple 4th gens just inside the gate to the yard.

The one just south of Tyburn road is Crecent U-Pull-It. They are a little more organized (they even have a basic price sheet), but they usually don't have as many f-bodies.

I thought the one in Hazelton was the largest? I've been there before - I think it took Tim and I almost 3 hours to walk though it.

Yeah, I've been there. There were only two or three third gens there with the Iron Duke motor. The only thing worthwhile at the time was a set of Magnum 500 rims, but the retards welded them together for jackstands. I'm sure they have a new crop now, but I wasn't impressed at the time.

Shorty's U-Pull in King of Prussia was OK, they had two second gens when I was there, a 73 and an 81.

There is also Great Valley Auto Salvage on Rt 30 near Malvern which was decent. It's kind of tucked away so it doesn't get picked over that much. I bought a few sets of 4th gen Camaro headlights there for really cheap that I resold for a good profit. They had some old 50s-60s cars tucked away and some Jeep CJ-5s or CJ-7s (I have no idea which) in the back of the yard, complete but in need of some serious TLC.

lol when was this

Rafterman 01-28-2008 08:52 AM

Well, if you are lookin for third generation, go to unique, I'm pretty sure its in jackson area, its a little ways off rt. 9 but it is THE BEST place to go for third generation. It a HUGE cluster of cars 1991 and older. There are 2nd generations everywhere. I even saw a 1980 Pace car. Its only open on saturdays but it is well worth it. There are SOO many old cars, there, 440 coronet, dusters, cars from 30's 40's and everything. but most of all, there are one first gen, a 68 firebird, countless 2nd gens, countless 3rd gens. and it is not a crusher yard so everything i am saying here is probably still there.
