coolmanvette75 04-06-2011 09:50 PM

almost as bad as what happened to that gto leaving the "on the border" show on rt.1 a year or 2 ago...

thunder 04-06-2011 10:15 PM

sucks. guy was just having some fun. Its ridiculous how people talk down about doing something that alot of people on this site are guilty of. I feel bad for the guy

BigRocsFirebird 04-06-2011 10:31 PM

why would you do that right in front of the cop waving you out? at least i think it said police right? and yes we've all most likely have done stupid stuff like that. i certainly would pick a better time and place than a meet on a busy road. but that's a shame.

WiMiMc 04-06-2011 10:37 PM

i love how the suggestions for videos were burning nipple part one... and part two.

No, I don't floor it while making a left turn with a cop directing traffic. Blip the throttle? Sure.

+1 Adam. The guy in the GTO was flat out stupid.

Sorry, I don't think I've ever been guilty of being THAT big a moron. There's a time and a place for stuff like that.

X2- There are 2 other short videos about the same accident. One of them shows the car being towed out and the damage he did to it. If you listen to someone on the first video, it goes something like "This is why we don't get invited to these meets"!

BonzoHansen 04-07-2011 08:18 AM

Forget the wreck, just pulling out like that is a good way for a club like us to be asked not to return to a given location.

transmaro93 04-07-2011 08:19 AM

too much car for the guy i guess? but yea pretty stupid doig that into a busy road with a cop standing right there leaving a gathering where your representing others... iv deff fishtaled into road like that before but never at a NJFBOA meet and never when other cars were around...i mean its no tlike he was going 50 all he had to do was let off the throttle and correct it... he passed the point of no return

Blacdout96 04-07-2011 11:11 AM

Does anybody know what club he was part of?

Says cars and coffee meeting - aka just mishmosh

Blacdout96 04-07-2011 12:09 PM

Ah. ashame that happened, it's stuff like that that threatens our hobby of being considered a risk to have at a public gathering.

Kat 04-07-2011 02:24 PM

Im not surprised that happened. I found out the hard way with mine after 3 weeks of owning it. The IRS in the car unloads rather abruptly and sends the rear around in a way you aren't expecting. At least with a solid axle car you can hold the rear out, jab the throttle a bit, make it do a 360 and miss all that stuff. lol

As for the jack ass doing thing. Seriously.. Come on who cares that you need to show off.

and that is the deal. it only takes one a-hole to kill something good.

mc73nova 04-07-2011 03:17 PM

Moron, not an ounce of me feels sorry for him. Unfortunately, its not the first time and it wont be the last.

WiMiMc 04-07-2011 05:53 PM

just think of all the things that engine/trans can be swapped into

Tru2Chevy 04-09-2011 04:05 PM

This video shows the owner and driver looking at the car, and then shows it being towed into the parking lot, and the owner posing next to it for pictures: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9te9gNrp3o
