newly acquired 94 z28 in need of motor

Just picked up a 94 z which seemed solid at the time, changed all fluids and now will need a motor after figuring i may have struck gold while looking at the old oil :-x, any help pointing me in the direction of a donor car or motor would be greatly appreciated

How is the engine running? Glitter/sheen in the oil can be a sign of impending problems or just that they let the oil change run long. Are the temp and oil pressure solid while driving it around?

If you do need to replace the engine are you looking for just a stocker or do you want to build something up. If the engine is running ok for now it could be a chance to put something together to add a little umph to that right pedal :burnout:

How much do you want to spend..?

I'm parting my car out. I'm wanting $5500 for the motor. I can tell you all about it if you want to go real fast :)

Yeah its more than just a sheen, its solid flakes and alot of them, oil pressure was definitely on the low side after the change which leads me to believe the previous owner knew there was an issue and threw something really heavy in to resolve the problem, temp is not a problem at all hovers right at 180, but there is now a definite knock up around 2k, my thoughts were find a decent used motor and clean it up, change what i want while babying this one hoping it doesnt give out on me...not the best plan but its what i have right now

Assuming I'm not in your budget?

Tim I had him put delo in it and it shut the knock up apparently. I rode in the car last weekend and it felt strong before any issues were present. The oil change back to ( my guess) light weight oil is what brought on the knock. I texted you the other night , did you get it? This was the car I was talking about .

A stock motor would work right now.

I have a stock short block, ran fine when it was pulled from Project28's car.

( Also have a set of ported Iron LT1 heads if you want to do a litttle moding? )

PM me and we can talk prices.
