shifter is in.

I chose the hurst quarter stick and it makes this thing so much more fun to drive. install didnt take too long...and its not very pretty but its not ugly. i used their shifter plate and a similar piece of aluminum and bolted both down to my modified stock shifter plate. clean enough for me, for now. I have pictures, excuse the quality...once again they were taken from my phone, and its bright as all hell today so the aluminum+white shifter knob reflected the sun just a tad. also, excuse the black bits of plastic on my floor, theyre from grinding the stock plate.

the ball is no bigger than the stock shifter.

your dad told me i probably wouldnt be able to chirp 2nd with a 3000 stall...i did it today. it tickled me. that trans is doin awesome now coupled with this shifter. i will probably be up your way soon as i need to drop off my old trans for your dad, and let him take the car for a test drive (i promised him).

i just need to say...3000 stall, a Ziggy built 700r4, and a hurst quarter stick make for one hell of a combo...

Good ****, bro. I'm glad you're having fun with it.

 The quarter stick works with a 4 speed auto? I had no idea. I always wanted one and now I think I'm going to have to get it. That is if it's a rachet shift and not just a handle...
Dan, that is exactly what I've been wanting to do for years only from the advertisements it's never been said to work with 4 speed automatics. Their marketing manager needs to get fired because I would have one if I had known. Instead I was left with the thought of TCI's new shifter as being my only other option vs the ugly B&M megashifter.
You just went up some more points in my book.
Dave, I need to talk to you ASAP. The trans deal for the used 4L60E fell through. Would your dad take a 4L60 as a core for a 4L60E? If not, I'll need to sit down with you about the parts I need. I don't want to tear into this and be left with it open while I wait on parts. You're my only hope!

We don't have any 4l60E cores. I thought you wanted ( or had) a 700r4? The "e" makes 'em a real bitch to deal with and a lot less reliable. We can do you up a 700 if you want or I can't get you parts. My cell is 609-238-1915...give me a call and we'll get you rollin.

I didnt know they made it for a 4 speed either until I did a little research. I saw a kit for a 700r4 and went with it. I don't know if youd call this a ratchet shifter...basically, when you throw it in first, you just push it forward to 2nd...squeeze the handle and push to go to 3rd...let go of the handle and push to go to OD. squeeze and push for neutral. then theres the reverse lockout that you push forward and then push the shifter and it goes into reverse blah blah blah...youll see it soon enough.

if you do end up getting a quarter stick let me know, ive got a few tricks now as to how to make the install a million times easier than the instructions say.
