I am curious as to what code you are talking about becuase yea disconnecting the battery is just going to knock out your radio time.

Hes talking about the theft lock codes for head units which either our cars have but it only works when u take the head unit out i believe. i never had a problem disconnecting my battery, just ur time will be messed up.

In order to have the theft lock come on when power is dissconnected, the radio had to first be programmed to do it, its not automatic. All the codes to arm disarm etc should be in the owners manual. I was going through my manual for my denali and it explained everything. i bought my SS new and unhooked the battery many times with no problems, so therefore it shouldnt come activated from the factory.

If your car came with it's original manual the info is in it how to make sure to disarm it if not let me know i'll post the direction's because if it was set by the orignal owner and the dealer has to reset it . They charged me 50 bucks one time when i forgot the code ;0(
