Fan relay
Is anybody running either a taurus fan or a mkviii? If so what relay are you running?
Thanks Jim |
The taurus fan is a very high amp unit dont hold it in your hand and plug it to a battery it will fly away hahah we used a constant amp relay ( 30 or 50 AMP ) like they use in the fords early 70s / 80s for the starter put it close to that fan and run #10 wire to it if you can from relay we used regular battery cable to the relay hot side and it will snap ( sound ) when you conect the smaller term to hot 12 volts pulles lots of amps hope your alt is high amp the taurus has a 100 amp stock jz

Your best bet is probably a DCC unit. See it installed here. Also, check this thread for some other setups. Also spend some tiome reading the cooling forum at pro-touring.
From what I have read, those are pretty high amperage setups. The DCC is seemingly the best way to go. That is what I am putting in the 77 for the LT1 fans I picked up. |

Thanks |
Go with the DCC setup. They will probably never run full speed again.
