Unknown Sensor and Wiring

While replacing the starter I came across the wiring and sensor in the pics below. Which sensor is this? It's the one with the blue plastic top, between cyl 6 and 8, passenger side. SBC 305 in an 88TA.

The wire in my hand comes through the harness along with the starter wires, but appears to be missing the connection. I -think- it goes to the sensor in the picture, but not sure. Or am I missing something else entirely?

If I can indentify these, I can hopefully get the right connection for the wire and put it in the right place. That would be a novel idea.

Any help?

EDIT: The other wire next to the one I am holding goes to the knock sensor - I unplugged that to assist with the starter swap.

That is a CTS, I believe. Is there stil a computer in the car?

That is the fan switch. That happened to me as well. Get a replacment connector. Its the same as the knock sensor connector. If you have dual fans you should notice one fan will not be working. If you have a single fan set up its extremely important to get it fixed asap.

IIRC, dual fan setups usually run just one fan, the second only comes on with A/C,
