Hmmmm, i guess that would explain my vibration coming from the rear and blown-shock-like-movement under hard accel!

by the way, how many pints of diff fluid does a 9 inch take? does 6 sound right?

98tadriver 12-23-2006 05:22 PM

im mad

V 12-23-2006 06:25 PM

with all the issues you had with that rear i suggest going to a 10 bolt and save up for a 12 bolt, and sell off that thing.

btw, i'll give you a temp 10 bolt and buy the 9 inch lol

Ian 12-23-2006 06:38 PM

holy hell! What company did you buy that rear from? do they have any sort of warranty?

Rob WS6 12-24-2006 12:55 AM

That sure looks like a Moser housing to me... that SUCKS man!

35thls1ss19 12-24-2006 07:34 AM

wow that really sucks. I got a 9inch bc there ''unbreakable'' Now you got me worried :(

Ian 12-24-2006 11:56 AM

breaking a welded axle tube on a 9 inch in a street car is something to brag about

98tadriver 12-24-2006 03:17 PM

i bought the rear from a friend, who bought it from a friend, i put it in this past may and i thought it was going to be the cure till i buy the 12bolt next spring/summer..

thanks! yeah im going to tear the rear out today and then sometime this week, meet up with one of our members from the boards and pick up a 10bolt for temporary getaround. and save up for a 12 bolt of course!

JSPERFORMANCE 12-25-2006 07:56 AM

That housing cannot be welded as it is.. It needs to be put in a jig and straightened before being welded back together...

he want's to go back to a torque arm setup...his 9" is set up for a "3-link" lookin thing plus i believe he doesn't want the power loss from the 9"
