What's the difference?

Hey guys my window motors appear to be dying. I found these on eBay and was wondering if there is a significant difference between these?

One seller is trying to get a bunch more money. Go for the cheap ones. Lifetime warranty....

There have been a few different revisions of the window motors, that could be part of it (besides e-bay price inflation).

The more expensive ones are said to be made the the OE suppliers and are equal quality. The cheaper ones are overseas replacements. Even though the cheaper ones have lifetime warranty... do you really wanna have to change them again... The more expensive ones also have the same warranty. Personally when i buy one for my car, itll be the more expensive one. Also, the cheaper ones state "left and right sides included"...well for our cars, both sides take the same motor.

Thanx for the input guys. I'm kinda low on dough so I'm gonna try the cheapos and hope I don't get bit in the arse.

I hear that the ones AutoZone carries are actually really really good, and carry a warranty as well.

I found something on LS1Tech as well that may be of intrest...

Thanx guys I'm going to go check out both advance and autozone this weekend.

deadtrend1 01-12-2007 03:51 PM

This thread is probably old news by now, but I have bought 4 different window motors from the same online store, and all have worked flawlessly. I'm pretty sure they are also made in the USA as well, and actually come with the same warrenty as the GM ones. They are just cheep. If for any reason you are looking for someone to do the install, I will charge anyone only $50 a window or $90 to do both.

camaro2you 06-04-2007 06:15 PM

Yup autozone sells them for 40 bucks with a lifetime warrenty i believe, i replaced both of them in the 98z with them.

CALL911 06-04-2007 06:25 PM

Nice. How fast do the Autozone ones go up and down in comparison to the GM ones?

camaro2you 06-04-2007 06:45 PM

Ive never seen a good set of gm ones but the autozone ones work great.

CALL911 06-04-2007 07:09 PM

I meant, does the Autozone window motor roll the window up and down at the same rate as a good working factory one?
