Autozone - $55 and lifetime warranty!

Same pat number for either DS and PS.

You can usually find them on ebay for $25-$35 each with a lifetime warranty.

i'll be doing both in the near future it seems

A parts house is probably your best bet.

From what I remember, there have been at least 3 different revisions of the window motor, and the latest is pretty decent.

DrachenFire 05-30-2007 02:33 PM

thanks everyone =D

it's incredibly hot in my car and my ds window doesn't work at all... the ps works a little, but it's wearing out... and the air conditioner takes 20 mins just to get it a little cooler but still hot...

but just a quick question... do i need the regulator also?

98tadriver 05-30-2007 03:09 PM

ive got 2 for sale, just have to pull em out of the 94 Z i got sittin here

DrachenFire 05-30-2007 03:15 PM

how do they work? i'm curious cuz my parents are buying and they don't care about price... i want something really good

98tadriver 05-30-2007 03:27 PM

these are used they work, but if moneys not an object then just get the new ones!

I have now installed 4 new window motors I got for about $25 a piece off of a company on ebay (1 in my old Formula, 2 in my new Formula, and 1 in my Z). They work great, and are a lot cheeper than the GM ones. The cheep motors come with the same warranty the GM ones do.

It was a royal PITA to install though, but after getting quoted $295 a piece at the dealer, I decided to do them all my self. After 4 installs now, I believe I have it down to a science.

If anyone needs them installed, I will only charge $50 a window ($90 if you want both done). I'll try to find the company I got mine from if anyone is interested.

sounds good but you're not exactly close

DrachenFire 05-30-2007 08:35 PM

hmm... i'm getting mine brand new and i found some cheapish ones too... and the place i go to get stuff done will charge prob the same or less cuz we're really good friends with the guy

CALL911 05-30-2007 09:31 PM

It's an open ended offer. I would prefer to work on them at my house so I don't have to drag all of my tools everywhere. Once you've done it a few times, its not so God awful, but it still can be a pain.

DrachenFire 05-30-2007 09:46 PM

lol true... well depending on what my guy is offering and where u live i'll get back to you =D

bubba428 05-30-2007 09:51 PM

the regulator is totaly different lol not electonic at all

qwikz28 06-04-2007 12:54 PM

dorman is a great brand that can be had at autozone

CALL911 06-04-2007 01:16 PM

I am in Wrightstown (Central Jersey). Specifically at McGuire AFB. Like I said, the offer is open to the public (any 4th gen F-body in specific).

DrachenFire 06-04-2007 03:14 PM

McGuire? a lot of my friends go there like every weekend for Civil Air Patrol =D

Well just let me know. The sooner in advance the better, as my schedule tends to fill up quickly. Just one window motor should only take a few hours, if you need both done, I should be able to do it in an afternoon or morning.

DrachenFire 06-04-2007 04:47 PM

ok i'll ask my guy the price and if his is too much i'll come to you... and it is both motors

CALL911 06-04-2007 06:05 PM

Cool, just let me know.

Mike 06-12-2007 04:28 PM

drachen, unless your guy is a really good friend of the family doing as a side job and not at a shop, he wont beat call911s offer.

that 90 bucks is less than what most shops charge for an hours work (which wont finish either window in one hour)
