Trunk Mounted Battery Disconnect Switch?

I have purchased the following items to wire my 73 Camaro with a battery in the trunk:

American Autowire Highway 22 Wining Harness
Remote Starter Solenoid
250 Amp Summit Remote Battery Disconnect Kit

I was wondering if the following wiring diagram is correct to accomplish the following things:
  1. The switch when turned off will shut down power to the car when running
  2. The cable to the starter will only be hot when cranking up the car
  3. Alternator will charge battery when the car is running
  4. Will pass a tech inspection

After much research. Here is a diagram based on MAD's schematics.

i have seen this before - some alternetors when shut off will back power the car if the starter sol it shows does not have a diode between the plus side and the wire shown for ign switch 14 gauge -- the alt shown is a race type one wire - do you have that type if not - that dia will not work for you and no it wont pass tech - the car when the master switch is thrown must shut off - jz

I ran into that issue once. The alternator can backfeed the system and the car won't shut off when you cut the battery out of the system. You need to kill the battery and the alternator.

thats a good idea as well - but the 3 wire GM alt you pictured you can also use a diode on the feed part of the voltage regulator on the back of the alt eather way it has to cut is ability to feed the electrical system 12 volts -- jz
