reverse

my reverse lights are not working correctly. when i put the car in reverse, the lights do not come on, if i push the shifter up a tiny bit they turn on. sometimes my car is in park and wont start till i push the shifter up a little once again.

is it the neutral safety switch or wat?

its a 3rd gen...its gonna have quirks lol. BUT if your really anal I believe you can adjust them not 100% sure how but once you pull the console you can figure it out easily I'm sure

there should be a little c-clip (iirc) holding the shifter knob on, pull it out, pull the shifter knob up and off. next remove the torx screws (i believe there is 8 ) from the shifter bezel and pull that off...there is a thing bolted to the shifter with what i think is 2 bolts, it is (iirc) about 2 in x 5 in and curved to follow the shifter unit. thats the NSS. has a 6 cable harness plugged into it. loosen the 2 bolts, adjust as necessary, tighten the bolts, and install everythign in reverse order.
