Do you have the microswitch for the shifter?

There you go man. There is a switch that is supposed to be installed that does this very thing. You also should have a neutral safety switch. If you don't have one of those, get one right away.

dumb question, where...i know they put the shifter in and these things werent hooked up...they were gonna hook em up when it hit the dyno, but the dyno hasnt happened yet and might not for a while, wanna get them done myself

Well if the switches are there, then it's just a matter of wiring them up correctly. The switches should be mounted right on the shifter. Can't tell you exactly where since I don't have any experience with that exact shifter, but they are pretty easy to spot on my Megashifter, I would imagine it's the same on yours.

I would jump on Hurst's web site and download the PDF instructions that are on there.
