I saw these clear corners + clear bumper lights for my 94 Z on eBay for $45.00
should I go ahead and buy it?
And if I do would I be recommended to buy Xenon leds for them or keep the stockers.

bought a few pairs, all leaked in water even when i tried to seal them... went back to ambers and never looked back.

sweetbmxrider 07-08-2008 02:23 PM

like i said, its hit or miss with leaking lenses. if you leave them clear, colored stock bulbs is fine. if you night shade them, you may have to look into LED's for the turn signals. i get alota dirty looks during the day. oh well

the only true way to get them to not leak is to separate the lens from the housing and reseal it yourself...which isnt very easy

V 07-08-2008 03:32 PM

mine only leaked after i used superwhite bulbs... went through 3 sets, finally eliminated DRLs and used stock amber bulbs, never had an issue since.

maroman88 07-08-2008 04:45 PM

my ebay clears with ebay LEDs are great

Jam 07-08-2008 06:10 PM

alright then i guess I'll try my luck and buy the clears for $45 and use the stock lights

sweetbmxrider 07-08-2008 07:10 PM

just make sure they are colored, unless you want it clear

Jam 07-08-2008 07:38 PM

No I want it to be clear, because smoked corners on a black car don't look good in my opinion.

sweetbmxrider 07-08-2008 07:48 PM

no i mean the bulbs dude. colored bulbs

Jam 07-08-2008 08:13 PM

i'll probably use some xenon lights to replace em with . I have tons in my basement

V 07-08-2008 08:41 PM

xenon lights as directionals... ?

sweetbmxrider 07-08-2008 09:04 PM

i dono either??

Jam 07-08-2008 09:17 PM

yeah?

sweetbmxrider 07-08-2008 09:31 PM

xenon lights are for headlights. the gas burns at such a high temp, it produces a blue light. not exactly possible in a turn signal???

i looked at the link...

"Xenon LOOK"... yes just the "look"... hooked on phonics worked for me.

aka.. superwhites and will eventually melt the clear and your socket causing even worse leaking issues...

ar0ck 07-09-2008 02:40 PM

I sealed my front & rear clear corners with clear window silicone, let them dry in the sun for a day in the sun, never had a leak. Going on 2+ years.

sweetbmxrider 07-09-2008 02:55 PM

yes what smokingss said.

Jam 07-10-2008 12:21 PM

alright. yeah then I'll just leave the stock lights on. Wait so I have a leak in one of my tail lights. Am I supposed to detach the tail light, separate the housing from the lens, wipe it/clean it, then use an adhesive such as silicone PVC to join em.

you can do that but when i had a leaky tail light i just ran a bead of silicone like alex said around the seam and let it dry for a few hours then no more leaks. also you can use a hair dryer to get the moisture out. nice car by the way, black z28s ftw!

haha TRUE THAT!!
But I'd rather make it 100% sure that It will be leak proof. So I'll separate the housing and do it the right way

sweetbmxrider 07-10-2008 06:14 PM

bubba428 07-10-2008 06:20 PM
