WTH IS THIS!

ok i got into my 98 z after work today and i saw a wire tucked up in the center console that was falling down so i pulled it a little and the one side is cut with like 7 colored wires wraped in a black covering. it goes up towards the center of the dash but cant see exactly where it goes. you guys have any clue?

harness for traction control if you had it ... maybe.

Dunno why it would be looking like that though.

sweetbmxrider 10-05-2008 06:37 PM

maybe an alarm?

Savage_Messiah 10-05-2008 06:44 PM

Is it an auto?

sweetbmxrider 10-05-2008 06:50 PM

Knipps 10-05-2008 07:03 PM

Stock headunit?

emolineaux 10-05-2008 07:24 PM

yea i have a stock raido in it. i did a little more investiagating and its routed up toards the center of the dash but than is tucked under the carpet and ran towards the driver side underneath the pedals. could it be a cut slp fan switch wiring? it looks similar to what i had in my 93 just dont remember how many wires were at the connector.

I was gonna say that it looked kind of like the neutral safety switch wiring on my car, and follows a similar route

emolineaux 10-06-2008 01:03 AM

ill have to do some more searching tomorrow after work to see exactly where this goes to. now im really wondering about it

WildBillyT 10-06-2008 08:31 AM

I would guess that it's something to do with the sound system.

Savage_Messiah 10-06-2008 02:02 PM

flux capacitor?

sweetbmxrider 10-06-2008 03:30 PM

i was thinking alarm or remote start

emolineaux 10-06-2008 08:00 PM

well i pulled on it some more and it runs under the carpet and it went to the foot rest all the way on the left i couldnt tell if it went through the firewall from there or to the back of the car

*Dons Dork hat*

Plus:

1.) The term is Cat5, Cat5e, or Cat6 cable.
2.) It would be twisted pair. This isn't.
3.) These wires don't look like 24 gauge.

Slow96LT1 10-07-2008 11:42 AM
