THERMOSTAT GUAGE

hey guys, in my 95 bird, seems as if the thermostat guage doesnt work. i looked under the hood. i see a sensor in the manifold. right behind the water neck. the wire seems to be attatched. is there a fuse for the temp gauge alone? is there another sensor anywhere? heater gets warm but not hot. all the other guages work. just the temp guage isnt working. thanks for your help in advance. im new to the 4th gen.

GM generally runs two temperature sending units prior to OBD2. A few cars are different, but for the most part there is one sending unit for the gauge and one for the computer. Check an assembly manual or a Chiltons book from the local auto parts store, should have a wiring diagram in it o show which sensor is which.

The sending unit for the gauge on the 3.4 motor, is located near the front of the left cylinder head, behind the power steering pump.

Maybe the clip just slid off the sensor.
