Chatterbox

I know this is a very popular spot for car guys to cruise to and meet up, and I happen to live like 2 minutes around the corner. If any of you plan on going out to grab a bite to eat and hang out shoot me a message because I'd love to start meeting some of you guys. I was in the marine corps and this is my first time back that I will actually get to do as I please and do car stuff

DO you live on 206 in a light color house w/ a steep back yard down from the farm stand? I might have seen you when I was out riding last fall. The was a silver camaro in the driveway.

NjbadSS 03-09-2009 11:37 PM

Yep that's my house. I've had many many many F bods so lord knows which one you're talking about. I have 2 older brothers who are also into f bods so who knows which car ya saw. My SS is usually always tucked away, especially considering I was away in the marines.. it got only like 2000 miles on it in 4 years

I'm in Vernon...try to get thier at least 2x a month.

I tend to go more in the spring/fall than during the summer, but will do. I love going there.

79T/A 03-10-2009 01:14 PM

I'm seven miles down 565 in Wantage. Whenever I have a Saturday night off during the summer and I'm not away wheelin', I'm there (Without my Trans Am, which may be done sometime in the next fifteen years).

NjbadSS 03-10-2009 01:19 PM

really? I dont believe I've ever seen your TA.. I go up 565 quite often to

It says it's not done, so it's probably in a garage somewhere

mc73nova 03-10-2009 03:59 PM

I like going but rarely meet up with anyone because everyone goes on Saturday nights and I'm at Island racing. That and its not as fun because I dont have a streetable car. I might have to swing by with my brother in his '78 Camaro.

I go during the summer quite a lot, when I have the night off that is. It is a great time and I usually have my car there too. This will be the first year that I have my new wheels on and a freshly painted front end so I'm excited.

I know that house too....my grandparents have a dairy farm in Wantage on the left side of 565 a few miles north of the Chatterbox, so I'm in that area relatively often.

It's not that large, and it's pretty much only run by my 83 y/o grandfather and my aunt & uncle who are both in their late 40s.

Their farm is on 565 at the corner were Beemer Church Rd. comes in from the left and Roy Rd. comes in from the right. There is a large Space Farms billboard on the corner of 565 and Beemer Church Rd. and that's one corner of his property.

The better you are, the later you have to stay. I do fairly well and when I dont, I enter the consi race which doesn't start until the 3rd round of the regular racing. Depending on how far you go and how smooth the day goes you could be there until midnight on a Saturday. I would say an average day at the track during the racing season is leaving the house around 10 AM and getting home around 9/10 PM.

yep thats me.. Jesse actually didnt sell the white Trans Am, had a few problems with it running rough and stored it away for the winter. Pretty soon we will pull it out and figure the dam thing out..

Slo86Bird 03-11-2009 11:45 PM

ill give him 300 bucks lol. joking aside, nice to see you guys on here.

L695speed 04-22-2009 12:42 AM

I know this is an older thread but I thought it might be better to post here than start a new one. I haven't been to the cruise nights there in a while...but I am planning on hitting them with my brother if he wants, with the Fiero, the MR2 (if we get it to start with the key) and the Trans Am when it runs. I live about 10-15 minutes south of there. I saw a 79 Trans Am there a couple years ago, also saw a 69 Camaro Z28 Green with White when I was there. I might have inadvertently ran into a few of you guys a couple years ago when I went more often. I am also going to be searching for work and theres no better place for an automotive restoration major (older cars) to look for work than the cruise nights.

As I said, if you see an 84 Trans Am there with a Dark Gray and Primer Paint job, with silver ground effects and the roof off, you just found my car if not me. The Fiero is Black and Silver with a 3800 SC (hate the car but with that engine in it it might be hard to hate it) and the MR2 is Silver and Black with front fender damage (prior to us owning it) and the air dam missing.

Is anyone hitting the cruise night at the Fair this year?

Red?

Maybe it's Fleetwiz? Older owner? As in, not 20s like the majority of members?

I think it was black with a gold bird and lettering. Was not a bandit car just a regular black TA. The Z28 was owned by an older guy.

BonzoHansen 04-22-2009 10:06 AM

Fleetwiz has a Camaro
