WTB Bass Guitar and Bass Amp - BOUGHT

So I'm looking to learn bass. I'm looking for something pretty cheap, and I will buy separately or together based on what anyone has. I'm just looking for a basic 4 string in good working condition, but I'm not looking to spend a lot. Brand doesn't matter too much to me, just looking for something that doesn't really need any work but can play good, and price is a factor right now. Anybody have anything?

I have a first act bass I'll sell it to you with a fender case for $50.00
and an extra set of strings.

OK so I bought a Bass, now I am looking for a good bass amp. I don't really care about brand, price is a concern though. I want something large enough to play a show...not a small practice amp. So if anybody has anything, let me know and we can talk about it.

I can talk to my cousin if you want he has a whole stack i believe. But he wanted a decent amount for it.

"large enough to play a show" and "cheap" don't go together... not sure what type of music you're into but if its anything that involves a hard hitting drummer and loud guitars you're going to need at bare minimum a 400W amp and even that might not be enough.

Another thing, I know you said you bought one but if you were looking for a good yet cheap bass give SX a look http://www.rondomusic.com/bassguitars4.html those basses with new strings and an upgraded pickup are probably right up there with Fender but at a fraction of the price.

Thanks I checked them out, they seem pretty decent for the money. When I start getting more serious I'll probably be ditching the bass i've got now for something nicer. I just wanted to work on technique for now.

As far at the amp, when I say cheap I don't mean like $50. I would just rather buy an amp once that I can stick with that won't lose much value. I know if I buy one of those 15 or 20 watt amps it will probably be a waste of money and time if/when i'm trying to get rid of it. Just looking for something used that isn't rediculous. I'm seeing some on ebay in the right price range in size, but shipping is the dealbreaker.

Bump, still looking for an amp. Something in the 300W range..

I would prefer an amp combo if possible
