E-Cutout
Well I recently picked up a hooker cat back and a QTP e-cutout to go with it.
I have no idea how I am supposed to wire this up I've spent 4-5 hours on google tech and various other sites trying to find the info. I have pics below so you can see it.and pics of the switch I plan to use. The cut out has 4 wires off of it; red, green, black, white. When I put the red to the pos term and green to the neg term it opens and when I put the green to the pos term and red to neg term it closes. And I have no idea what the other 2 wires do I am assuming the black is a ground?? As for the white not a clue the previous owner hasn't got a clue if it bit him in the face(hey I only payed 45$). so if any one with some electrical know how wants to chime in that would be great. oh ya i have a qtp cut out. it comes with an illuminated switch. that is probably what the white wire is for. the others are power and grounds, to allow it to open, close, and stopped. you probably want a 3 position rocker switch so you don't burn the motor out by leaving the toggle to one side or the other. qtp should sell their switch with the entire harness if you want to go that route. simple two wire plug into the cutout and 1 power and 1 ground connection at the switch.

BMXRIDER That would make since but the black wire and white wire go to what seems to be the same circuit(just opposite ends), see pic 3. That has a gizmo that goes to a gizmo that looks like it pushes on the motor. I was told it was a QTP, I dunno 100% if it is or not. |

i'll try to remember to look at mine tomorrow. i think this is just a little hacked up. you really want a different switch though that operates like your power window switch. imagine if you had a toggle switch for that. now imagine its for something you can't see and can barely hear, especially if its open. just my thoughts.

that most likely isn't a qtp cutout. I keep burning the wirers on mine and know for a fact that there are only 2 wires going to the motor. My QTp is only a year old, so maybe it's an older one.

yeah i think it might be just with rigged wiring. if you look at the motor itself, it has a white and a black wire coming off of it. try and get the correct harness, unless you can mess around with like a 9 volt battery and figure out that switch.

yeah the switch is jsut something I had laying around I haven't even had it hooked up yet.
The motor itself has a red and green wire coming off of it then there is a side circuit white he black and white wire. |
oh i was looking at it wrong. did you try hooking the white to power and the black to ground?
