ABS Problem

I have a abs inop light and the brake light is on in my 98z28. It is a non traction control car, checked all fuses and everything is good. If you go to lock up the brakes it will lock so the pump is not working at all. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

jack the car up. with the key on spin each wheel one at a time. if the abs light comes on then that sensor is working....if one of them doesnt like up the abs light while being spun then replace or check the connections to said wheel sensor.

id check there first.

I would have someone check the codes for the ABS. Could be something small like a wheel speed sensor or it could be a problem somewhere else in the system. Certain codes will disable the ABS system as long as the light is on.

Update: if you jack the rear up and put the car in gear and let the wheels spin the abs inop light stays on but the brake light does not come on and if you use the ebrake the light comes on and off like it should. On the front wheels if you spin the driver or passenger side it will make the brake light come on and stay on until you turn the key on and off. During any of these steps the abs inop light stays on.
