My boss's post worthy excuse for not working today
Well my boss almost two or three times a week has a new excuse of not coming to work, I've heard everything from "I got a flat tire", "It snowed a lot more here then there", "My son in college is home sick I have to ensure he's drinking the right amount of fluids", "My son is exhausted from running track so I can't come in", "The heater in my car doesn't work" so many more I can't remember.
She's not the owner and the CEO of the company works over night hours so he doesn't get to see the crap she does everyday. She's supposidly one of his good friends that's why she got the job. So today she comes in at 11:30am with her dog. (She's suppose to start at 8am with no e-mail or call in like she makes us do if we're running late) So here's the story: She said her dog refuse to let her leave her house this morning, so she brought him in hence why she was a few hours late. She stuck the dog in my inventory cage where my inventory parts picker is suppose to work. Well the dog barked the whole 5 minutes he was in there. So after the five minutes of the dog constantly barking (My inventory parts picker was getting annoyed) she went home with the dog and took a full PAID vacation day. If I tried that, she would read me the riot act. When I called out of work the day after I worked there the day before for 18-20 hours to fix a problem with our server so our company can function, I get yelled at for not coming in. |

guy i worked with when i first got into my trade called out one morning, his excuse, "i think i might have cancer" he was back in the next day, never again mentioned anything about cancer. |
Why not let your CEO know what she's doing. friend or not, she's wasting company time, and money, and like I say friends are friends, but business is business, no matter the ties.

I've actually fired a few friends of mine because they though they could get away with not working even after telling them they had to their job. |
Well thats what it takes t stay on top, to lie, steal, cheat, whatever, usedt o see it all the time at Viking. You needto burn her well, some survaillence camera's of her pulling in at what time. hell I used to go behind my bosses back and go to a direct higher up to let them know my idea's or what im doing a head of time, so when my boss tried to say it was their idea, they were beaten to the punch, and was put on watch for that.

Just another story in the books for her. You should update this every time you tell me something.

Call in dead tomorrow, but tell them you expect a full recovery by Monday.

i know the situation...its hard to go to your boss because you dont want to be a snitch.
theres gotta be a HR rep you could talk to.. |
That's pretty good lol.
Senior engineer at my work took off early to go by his new Porsche and not bother to tell anyone. Still put on his weekly timesheet he worked 8 hours that day.... We are paid salary but keep track of our time through various project billing codes. The next day, I casually asked him what the billing number was for " I left early and went to buy a Porsche"? He didn't like that.... good thing he answers to me :) |

I only read the OP so I might have missed something but since when someone's boss owes an explanation to their employees about their where abouts? That's like private questioning a 1 star... Are you expecting her to notify you if she's running 20 minutes late too?

UPDATE: Apparently the dog won't let her leave the house again today. So far we've gotten an e-mail which says "Taking a half vacation day this morning." also to add to the story, she came back to work yesterday at 4pm to pick up her paycheck a day early. |
