Stupid remote starter question...

This one just shows that I'm used to working on old cars haha.

When you wire in a remote starter...all the connections that go into the ignition harness should only be tapped into the stock wires right? As in you don't cut any of them, you only t into it?

It only makes sense to me to do it this way but just want to be certain.

You definitely don't cut any wires. I'm trying to remember when I installed it in one of my old 4Runners but I can't remember all the details, it was a while ago. I know I screwed up the wire to the brake pedal so it would crank but wouldn't start because it kept grounding itself out.
