Roads are ugly, be careful out there!

We pretty much got what they were calling for so far. 1-2" of snow, then sleet and now freezing rain. Roads are a mess. it doesn't look like we'll get as much rain to help clean up this mess so take your time. And everything is supposed to freeze tonight when the cold front goes through so dry the weatherstripping on your doors or you might be frozen out of your vehicle tomorrow!

The roads are fine down here, though I fell on the ice trying to clean off the car. I rate it at about a 7 out of 10 on the gracefulness of the fall...FML

Yeaa driving to school was fun this morning, I swear whether its rain/snow/etc people just forget how to drive.

I was supposed to drive to Holmdel for work today from PA. No thanks, it's an 1 1/2 hour trip when the roads are good. My DD is a 1994 Buick Roadmaster its not bad in the snow but ice and stupid people is another thing all together.

Anti_Rice_Guy 01-18-2011 08:56 AM

I was cleaning off the driveway and while standing at the top near the road, I literally slid my way down slowly without moving my legs, while shoveling the piles along the side of the driveway.

and for that i'm probably going to get mine.

i havent tried leaving the house yet, i have work at 2:30
i might just go clean the car off now.

It was pretty slippery in central NJ. Slushy and icy on the way to work. The steps and driveway were slick again about 20 minutes I shoveled. Traction control in my DD Mustang is so cool, I am still getting used to it. It removes alot of the pucker factor of driving in this mess.

Wow, I just saw that it's supposedly 68 degrees down in Wildwood/Cape May area! Is it really that warm down there?

I seen that on the news this morning but the weather lady said it was probably a mistake. If it is 68* I'm taking a ride.

If we're lucky it will only be snow showers but a couple of the models are showing 3-6" of snow for a good portion of our area. It was higher, but they backed off with the latest runs. And another storm for next week. Keep shoveling the snow as far away as you can so you have somewhere to put the next storm.

Frosty 01-19-2011 06:00 AM

So much for the "experts" saying it was going to be a mild winter lol.

BonzoHansen 01-19-2011 07:22 AM

now they are saying snow, possibly significant amounts, tomorrow night into fri morning!

Mark68 01-19-2011 07:32 AM

I'm already sick of this snow/wintery mix crap and winter has only just begun!!! I also heard that more is on the way for late Thursday night into Friday morning. Thank god I have the FJ Cruiser for a DD!!!
