18/19. GD Studey tripped me up

edpontiac91 02-04-2011 10:11 AM

Got 17 out of 19. Missed on the Studebaker R1 289 and the "Rat Rod" 427. Cool game, brings back a time when you knew every tail fin and engine color. Now ALL the cars are rubber stamped look alikes with HUGE plastic engine covers over a sea of wires and emission tubes that hide whatever lurks underneath.

alamantia 02-04-2011 10:16 AM

Yeah, could you imagine that game for todays cars?

I think this would be much harder if it were in black and white.

13/19...not bad for someone who grew up in the 90's. I will say, the ones I got, I actually did recognize

Would it be cheating to read the plastic cover?

Name that engine!

Thats a K24-Z6 out of a Honda from 02-present. New design featuring (finally) timing chains as opposed to belts, and I-VTEC which features the variable valve timing on the intake cam only.

Honda employee 8-)

Actually

That's only available in the 2010 CRV and from 07-09 they used the k24z1 which has the lesser design on the two, the engine operates on 12 valves and converts to 16 valve operation as required. but from 03-06 they used the popular k24a1, which is the lowest hp of the bunch (156hp) but is arguably a beast when it comes to handling hp, guys are clipping 700whp on race fuel with a stock A1 bottom end and others are running reliably at around 500.
