A new twist to 1st Gen Camaro Headlights

First, I want to thank Chris for coming by and letting me use his car as the guinea pig for the new lighting offering for all 7" round sealed beam headlamps. I actually enjoyed working on the beautiful car and it was a pleasant change from a normally cramped work space ala 4th gen Fbodies. I wasn't sure how these would look on a classic vehicle however I think they look awesome. The black and chrome look ties in well with the front end of the car.

The headlights utilize a true HID bi-xenon projector with a completely plug and play harness. These units have a halo but we ran out of time to hook it up. Below are some day time shots but the real magic will be at night when you see what a real projector can do. I tested these last night and the output is very impressive with a nice wide beam spread and sharp cutoff.

I'm not diggin them. Reminds me of bottle bottom glasses.

BonzoHansen 05-21-2011 04:16 PM

i wonder if they'll work for RS cars. Id consider using these in an RS because the lights are pure function and not seen.

They will fit in a RS car. Measurements have already been taken. If a car uses a 6024 headlamp, this will fit which includes 1st gen mustangs, 1st/2nd gen camaros, tons of jeeps, miatas, 70's cuda, 70's nova, and a number of other cars.

Chris asked that the housing be blacked out which worked really well for his car but they are also available in chrome.

You mean 6024, right? 6054 is the 6"x7" rectangular sealed beams (are you working on those next? If so, let me know. I can drop a vehicle off and leave it for you for a few weeks for development purposes if you want ;) )

Yea I meant 6024, thanks for catching that. The 6054 could be based on the 93-97 firebird setup but I'm not sure if the market is there.

Had to pick up Gina from the airport so I will have to take a ride up and get night shots. I tested them last night and the output is up to my standards :)

CHRIS67 05-21-2011 07:38 PM

I'm not sure if it is my laptop of your camera, but they look much better in person. I'm hoping that I'll get it out for this Thursday's Cops n' Rodders in Hackettstown. Looking forward to being able to stay out after dusk with it. Woot! Bring your camera Nick!

maroman88 05-21-2011 07:46 PM

Anti_Rice_Guy 05-22-2011 05:34 PM

They look better here than on my phone when Chris sent them, but I bet they look even better in person! Chris, I probably won't be at Cops n Rodders, a few girls from school invited me to Stone Harbor

CHRIS67 05-26-2011 06:43 AM

Getting together with PAL tonight to finish the lights. We should have up more pics soon. Does that make me a deputy PAL?

sweetbmxrider 05-26-2011 07:20 AM

No, your Camaro is too nice and is blessed by BLS.

I do not authorize the issuance of PAL certificates but I will see what I can do. You are a northerner so this may be a sticking point however if your car runs 12s or slower, that may just help you get in.

I am bringing my better camera tonight. Its not a SLR but it takes pretty decent photos.

CHRIS67 05-26-2011 09:15 AM

Feel free to stop over Nick. I'll put a few more beers in the fridge.

69BirdX 05-26-2011 09:36 AM

Wish my 69 bird was clean as that car and I'd guinea pig

Anti_Rice_Guy 05-26-2011 09:44 AM

If I don't go to a movie with this girl from school or if we go to a late showing I'm going to try and stop by and BS/lend a hand then. I'll swing by Wendy's early to say hi to the crew on my way over.

Meh, girls will only cut into the car budget.

Blackbirdws6 05-27-2011 04:33 PM

Bump for the night shots. They were aimed initially very high but we got that sorted out with using all of the stock adjustments. The halos match the car perfectly and as you can see, the output and cutoff are astounding.

Anti_Rice_Guy 05-27-2011 09:39 PM

I think the last day picture and the night pictures better show how these lights look in person. They look pretty badass and work even better. Congrats to BLS!
