cat-back question

can someone tell me why there is like no cat-backs are listed to fit a 92? i thought with the exception of what cat setup you have that all the cat-backs where the same. so if i wanted i could buy a catback to fit an 88 for my 92 as long as the cat diameter was right...can someone enlighten me because i am confused as to what the difference is?

As long as the diameter of the pipes are the, the design of the '88 system should bolt right up to your '92. Nothing changed as to where the clamps hook up or where it exits so pick out an Edlebrock/ Magnaflow and enjoy some great sounds and chrome tips.

i just don't understand why if you put in 92 or 91 the cat back options are so limited, the exhausts are routed THE SAME....so i have to search for an older year to find the cat-back I want....its just stupid

many of the hi end 91-92 f cars had factory dual cats, and finding a catback to attach to them is really hard. Probably has somthing to do with it.

does your formy have them or a single cat?

either way, with some modification, they can all be made to work, even 4th gen setups

single 2.5.....yeah its not a "HO" lol

the problem gets into particular application hangers, flanges, etc. Companies don't want to spend any r&d$ on rare apps. You won't see bolt in listings for some early 3rd gen apps too for that reason. A good exhaust place can make the mods needed.
