In case you guys care...

North American International Auto Show is going on in Detroit right now.

Chevy showed off 2 new concepts today, one RWD one FWD.
Cadillac showed off the ATS, the new 3 series fighter
Tomorrow, Buick is showing off the Encore, a small 5 seat crossover.

The ATS sounds interesting.

KirkEvil 01-09-2012 12:30 PM

No LS10, no care

WildBillyT 01-09-2012 12:33 PM

****.

The American turbo manual trans AWD car I've been waiting for and it's a Caddy. Better start saving my nickels.

I gotta ask though. Any thoughts on MSRP?

Anti_Rice_Guy 01-09-2012 12:41 PM

I've been following this. ATS really seems like a home run.

130R sounds neat except it looks like an even more awkward brother to the BMW 1 series

If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Saw this yesterday at Wegman's:

Also very impressive out of the MOPAR camp.

But the ATS seems to fit the practicality role very well. I don't want another car to dump money into and have been very underwhelmed looking for a car I really WANT to replace my beater.

Blackbirdws6 01-09-2012 01:18 PM

ATS looks great IMO. Wonder if they come out with a V.

I ****ing hate how your site doesn't resize pics to fit in the allotted viewing area.

I'll take a 130R with an LS9 in it!

V 01-09-2012 02:51 PM

there have been "rumors" of an ATS-V coming with a twin turbo v6 making 470hp...

I will most likely be getting a lease on a 2014 ATS(when my Cruze is up), for my daily driver. Preferably the coupe if its out by then.
And depending on finances and which models are available then, I will seriously consider an ATS-V, even if I have to finance it.

And as of now, that ATS is still said to be "pre-production" model so I cant wait till it actually hits the showroom floors.

WayFast84 01-09-2012 05:00 PM

Does anyone else think the 130 coupe looked like a BMW and a Camaro had a baby? I like the 140 s though, if it was fwd and started in the mid teens It would be a huge hit with parents and teens. Scion would actually have competition besides a civic..

...ill say it... I think the 130R thing is hideous.

sweetbmxrider 01-09-2012 07:45 PM

That one thing definitely has some 5th gen in it.

BigAls87Z28 01-10-2012 12:01 AM

You definitely have cataracts. There couldn't be less 5th gen in that car if it was a 2nd gen.

Tear the roof of the 130 and plop on something with more rake, and you have yourself what will be the 6th gen Camaro, give or take.

Both cars are designed with production in mind.

Dibs on the Trans Am if you sell it post Caddy purchase.

Also, we should start a thread of who wants to head up to the NY auto show later in the year. I'm seriously considering it.

sweetbmxrider 01-10-2012 07:42 AM

Take the roof and windows off, very similar side profiles. From the back of the rear wheel to the bumper, looks very very similar.

All they did was screw up a 1 series and slightly redisign a civic coupe

Remove the sidebar, pictures go full size broseph.

And there will be a V.

Blacdout96 01-10-2012 11:02 AM

I love the Chevy Sonic, trying to ge my wife into one. The 140S concept however, I am salivating, and hope that is the styling they are goign for if it was to come to production, like a mini Cadillac CTSV, but affordable to me :D I love it, and I hope they'd come out with it. I've gotten old enough where the FWD,compact, gas sipping community has grown on me, so this would be a green light for my purchasing future.

BonzoHansen 01-10-2012 11:19 AM

What's with the affordable cadillac talk? A caddy has never been an everymans car. They're Caddies

V 01-10-2012 11:27 AM

I know it won't be cheap. Expect an ATS-V for at least high 40k.
