question about picking up a car

Lt1_8U 01-19-2012 09:49 AM

BOOYAH.

You can make a dolly out of wood and casters.

not a bad idea!! im going to do a massive internet search id just need wheels large enough to make it up the ramps, it has the whole front end and the wheels and tires on it just no rear

Make dollies and pay someone to flatbed it.

If it has no motor trans or rear you might be able to get away with tractor or large wheelbarrow tires. You can use large bolts as axles.

ive got a buddy that will do it for gas money only thing im worried about isthe angle of the flat bed to the car, i would need to make the dollies pretty tall so the bumper doesnt scrap.

truee i could put two roller skates underneath lol. do you think the tires will stay under the car as the tow truck or winch pulls it?

Lt1_8U 01-19-2012 10:12 AM

actually they wouldn't have to be too tall because the leaf springs are still in the car and i could just ratchet the dollies to each leaf spring

LS1ow 01-19-2012 10:35 AM

hows your fabrication skills? you can make yourself a "frame" and have the front wheels on dollys and tow it with a wheel lift backwards.

Might be worth just getting a cheap rear. Or borrowing one. U bolt it in with wheels. It's not like you are driving it. Any rear would probably do, too. Wouldn't matter if the wheels are sticking out 2" per side.

Lt1_8U 01-19-2012 10:58 AM

that is true, and would take me 20 min to do

Jersey Mike 01-19-2012 11:02 AM

Yeah, why not just throw a spare rear-end in there. If I still had my old blown 10bolt I'd let u take it
If you can get your hands on a rear end but need wheels, let me know.

Jersey Mike 01-19-2012 11:02 AM
