LT1 EGR delete
 
I pulled off my intake yesterday to fix the oil leak from back of manifold. I'm debating if I should block off the EGR. Mine works fine but I figured if I'm going to do it, nows the time. Was curious if anybody on here with a 94 or 95 LT1 have this done. Will set off the Check Engine LIght?
Anybody think of anything else I should do or be looking for while I have manifold off.

Eh, if it were mine I'd get rid of it. I really think the egr tube contributes to the notorious intake manifold leak to begin with. Too much heat for the rtv to handle. I think if you leave the electrical portion of the egr connected, it won't throw a light.

So block off both sides of the EGR tube. Then leave the EGR valve in place and plugged in.

If I wasnt such a pussy I'd scrap the stock setup and get the LT4 hotcam setup.

No, take the egr off too. Leave it plugged in though and you should be good with CEL.

Exactly what I did. No check engine light on my old 95 formula.
