FoundersPerformance Relocation Brackets-Help with Install Tips
 
My son just sent me a set of these brackets for my 1991 Formula. These have an arm that sticks out with a 45* angle (bolts to the lower shock support) that some of the other brands do not have, such as Spoon/ UMI and others. Just wondering why some of them use different designs? They sent me some installation instructions which include cutting of 1/4" of the caliper weights. Never heard of anyone having to do this. They also said that the handling may be a bit "twichy" on taking corners if you use the lowest setting. Should I leave well enough alone, or put these on. With the 3:73 gears, it has to be babied out of the hole (on the track) and I was hoping this would help it hook up better.

No, stock height with tubular LCA's/ panhard bar.

if the lca is pointed up towards the front of the car, the lca will cause roll oversteer. typically in a handing application you want the lca slighty down, roll understeer or level

They are typically for lowered cars, although they may help non lowered cars too. Probably have that extra piece for more stability - I'm guessing.

I would think in your case a good drag radial would help a lot more than the relocation brackets in terms of better 60' times. Have had very good experience with them on nitrous equipped L98 cars, at least the Nitto 555 DR in 16".

id say yes if you are lowered, no if you are not lowered. i need them due to the amount of lowering the rear has, the lca points down at the body drastically, and id like to atleast level it out for a little more neutral feel. i will not be using the all the way bottom hole

the arm that sticks out is to hold them in place without needing to be welded, the ones you are seeing without that are probably weld in sets

I had them, then didn't, then had them again, and now don't again

When I was lowered with a poorly matched combination my car would not hook at all off the line, and was really bad in the rain. I installed the brackets and they made a huge difference in getting off the line. I ran them on the middle setting for a few autox's and they didn't change a whole lot handling-wise, not that I've had enough experience to really know. When I switched up my setup to BMR/Koni in the rear I removed them, didn't notice much difference and could still get off of the line pretty well so I sold them. I think I've replaced half of my aftermarket suspension parts with stock stuff by now hahah.
