2014 Camaro ZL1 splits in TWO in high speed wreck

A father and his 17 year old daughter were in his Yellow ZL1 Camaro when they hit a traffic poll that torn the car IN HALF. Again, another really stupid novice kills himself and his daughter while (not confirmed) racing. How FN fast do you have to be going to tear this car apart. Lets build these cars with 1,000 Horsepower and kill more people who THINK they can handle it on the STREET!

link for those who may not have seen it.

one always has to remember this could be the consequence while racing, no matter street or track. I don't think horse power is to blame, inexperience and miss use of the power is the problem.

Sad story.... if your gonna race let it be when your by yourself in the car and not put other people lives at stake. Probably roll racing, that's a lot speed to split a car like that.

I felt bad until I saw it has a gofundme for funeral expenses. Maybe I'm just being an ass but if you can afford a zl1, surely you and your 5 adult offspring can help themselves. And even still, this wasn't some innocent, tragic act.

People are trashing them on the GoFundMe.

Raised lil over 5k already. Reminds me of when boosted gt from street outlaws made one after he wrecked his car, wealthy asking for handouts...

The GoFundMe path sets you up for a lot of criticism. This guy may have been "wealthy" but maybe living paycheck to paycheck. Perhaps he spent his money on the car payment and not on life insurance. I'm sure the insurance company will take its sweet time reviewing this before dispersing any benefits. I'm not defending the purpose of GoFundMe but its certainly abused by many. I recall GoFundMe takes 20-30% of the collected funds as well.

Kinda ironic that the picture shown of the car is by a speed limit sign.

I've said this before, but we all know how fast 0-60mph is or 0-100mph these SUPER CARS ARE, but with this much power, what is the closing rate on upcoming traffic or obstacle in your vision. You may SEE something up ahead, but how good are the brakes or your reactions to bring you down from 120mph + when you have WOT on your foot just a second before? This idiot not only ruined his marriage, but took out an innocent victim (his 17 year old DAUGHTER) who up until seconds before the crash, had her whole life in front of her! Now the Family-Wife and Mother has to deal with this tragic nightmare.

Wonder is Chevrolet would like the specs on what it took to RIP that ZL1 Camaro APART!

Any idiot can do 100+mph in nearly any car nowadays. I'd rather do it in a car that has the brakes to slow it down and the tires to control it, never mind the design and engineering implemented into it.

Yeah, ANY IDIOT can do 100 in any car. We ALL have done it on the Parkway and Turnpike and elsewhere. My point was a 650hp car can get there in record time, but by the time you realize your doing WAAAAY over that speed (and possibly street racing) if a situation suddenly comes up, getting out of it may not be an option. Evidently some of the best brakes and tires and design in production could not help this accident.:omg:

well its def not the car's fault... very sad but guy should have known better.

Who really knows what happened. Could have been an unknown variable that even a professional driver couldn't account for. Being a 60 mph road, I don't think its a road littered with random occurrences that you'd see driving through a business or residential district. I'd assume its more of a local highway. Just taking a guess here.
