Master Cylinder/Proportioning valve cleaning....

Thanks to help from Pampered-Z, I got the last of the new brake lines installed last night.

Before I add fluid and bleed the system I want to clean the master and the proportioning valve, since the fluid that was in the system was black and chunky.

Has anyone done this before? What is the best way? I was thinking of just spraying the inside of the master with brake cleaner and wiping all the crud out of there, and then unhooking the lines from the proportioning valve and adding some fluid to the master. Then pump the brake a few times to get most of that fluid out and into a bucket.

Sound good?
