go for teh 4.10's. you won't regret it.
there are good cat back options foir teh 3800, just order a cat back for a single cat LT1 car and you will have teh 3inch tubing the engine wants.
since your car is an "01 you already have the tubular manifolds. they are a pretty good start, definately good enough to make the available off teh shelf headers not very useful.
a good y-pipe is always a good call though. flowmaster makes really nice y-merges. i would sugest having an exhuast shop bend you up a y-pipe using a 2- 2 1/4inch into single 3inch y-pipe using a flow collector.
i always suggest a cat delete. it frees up a bunch of flow and power. a bullet style muffler can be fitted in teh place of teh factory cat to keep teh volume below teh radar of the cops/ballbusters.
a whisper lid + whatever brand of "ram air" helps a bunch too.
big thing is to get started with programming asap. the sooner you start tuning teh better prepared you will be to take advantage of each mod you add.
