I'm gonna try picking one up at the local parts store tonight and throwing it in there to see what happens. I can return it if it doesn't.
I've ruled out a vac leak at this point after some testing.

Are you using a de-screened MAF? I remember when Jon tuned my 305 he bumped up all the MAF tables to compensate for that. Try sticking a stock MAF in and see what happens? If it works for you, I'll go replace mine too.
