I got my first speeding ticket about a year ago. It was for 15 over. New Jersey has this thing where you pay extra money to lose the points, I think they said it can only be used like 2 times every 3 years or something. It was like an extra 250-300 dollars plus fines but it reduced my points to zero and your insurance company is not allowed to raise your rates. This was all done with my public defender when I showed up in court.
