I switched over on my 98 from the LS1 rear brakes to the LT1 rear brakes when I had the Prostars on my car. I had to grind off the fins that are on the LT1 calipers and still had to run a spacer. You would be better off grinding down you LS1 brakes. They are better and with the LT1 brakes I had to rerun the Brake lines and e-brake setup because they were different. Kind of a pain in the ass.
