looking for a shop in north jersey

my brother was on 287 in ny when his car starting misfireing he pulled over and poped the hood to find out the spark plug poped out of the head and the coil pack broke hes looking for a shop in north jersey to change the heads he has a 2000 mustang gt 4.6

ah the good old mod motor blowing out spark plugs...you dont have to change the heads, they make a repair kit for them...not sure how hard it is to get at the spark plug hole though. if you cant just repair it, TTP would do it im sure

Same thing happened to me when I was driving a ford lightning in PA.....drove 2 hours home with it popping the entire time

i like the 5.0 engines they are easier to work on and less defects and you can swap heads in your own driveway

not enough threads in the head for the spark plugs i read it on a mustang site the 4.6 and the 5.4 all do the same

When it happened to me, all I did was heli coiled the head and replaced the spark plug and the coil pack and it was perfect. Too bad that didn't work for your bro cuz it was such an easy fix on the lightning.

yeah im well aware of these types of problems. i used to work for ford. this is a very very very common occurance.

The earlier heads had 3 to 4 threads per spark plug, whereas the 03 and 04s had 8 to 9 so if ur gonna get new heads you should upgrade

that is correct when they changed the body in '99 is when they got pi heads and intake
