Dont the camaro consoles have an integral radio pod? Meaning, its all one piece?

Calhoon had a firebird with a camaro console. I think part of the dash had to be hacked at to fit it in there.

Not the best idea, in my opinion.

IF you can get your hands one one, a 93-02 4th Gen Center Console would look much better, that is if your in the market for a new center console.

That's interesting.....considering that they sell a console Megashifter designed specifically to fit 3rd gen Camaro and Firebirds

On my 85 T/A with the Mega Shifter I just hacked up the stock center console peice. I intended to put leather around it, but I could never get their actual gear selection peice on and working right. I just memorized the position on the teeth, or how many clicks.

Slight thread hijack...

After attempting to repair my center console with clear silicone, I decided it looks like a complete hack job so decided to replace it. I bought another center console, however they all come in gray.

Since I'm going for an all-black interior, is there a best way to color the console black?

I think we talked about painting plastics and such in a different thread. Can't remember the outcome of that thread. Am I better off painting and clearcoating the console, or dyeing it? In each case, which materials are best?

Thanks.

Dye it, I speak of personal experience. The paint will just crack off.
