What size Cutout and Where?

hey guys i'm trying to order my cutout and i wanted to clear a few things up before I order the wrong size or put it in the wrong place. my car is a 96 with 2 cats, i've heard to put it in many different places so i wanted to see which would be the ideal location. I have a flowmaster cat back, i measured the diameter right before my I-pipe turns toward my muffler and its about 2.85in, where the second cat is it's 2.5in. So I'm also not sure to get 2.5 or 3 inch Y-pipe for the cutout.

alot of people including myself put it just before the overaxle pipe. where the rear seat is, the body goes up giving nice clearance for the motor to sit. i would recommend it there if you want it to be a little loud but not open header loud (since you have cats)

a 3 inch cutout will work fine. there is also a drain hole close by to run the wiring into.

got pics of this?
I have no cats on mine and was debating about putting it where the Y meets the straight pipe for the over axle.

i think im gonna put it under the rear seats like mentioned above, im most likely getting headers and ORY in the spring, would that location still be good, i want it loud, but deep not raspy.

mine currently just has long tubes on it and I love how it sounds hahahahaha but when I get around to getting the exhaust in it I want to ahve the ability to ahve it sound loud i'm sure either position would work but the over axel seems to be a better location as you wouldn't have to worrya bout the cut out hitting anything on the road.

did the chalk trick. do i put the back of the cutout where the chalk starts again? or the front? I'm guessing it also needs to be where i can stick the motor in that area where it's recessed back for clearance.

Just mount it under the passenger side back seat right before the S pipe, it gives the best clearance and access point to run wiring.

cutout installed. put it under the passenger seat like you guys said and wired it up to the cig lighter, I mounted the switch on the left side of the center console, very discrete/clean. Thanx for all your help guys, sounds like a beast now.
